NB. This song is chockablock with metaphors and obviously not actually about fireworks. This makes it one of the trickier songs to try and translate. Virtually the whole way through this one, you aren't signing the actual words you are singing, so it's really like rubbing your tummy and patting your head. But practice will help!

For the verses, we've tried to convey the meaning of the lyrics as it's all about feeling unimportant, lost and worthless, and then in the choruses it's like a friend telling you to believe in yourself and reminding you how brilliant you are.

The chorus is all about showing YOU and everyone realising how brilliant you are. However, we've kept with the literal sign for FIREWORK in the chorus just because it's so iconic, it would be a shame to repeat signing something like 'special/amazing' here when we've already signed SPECIAL for the 'spark in you'. The other reason for keeping the literal sign for FIREWORK is purely an artistic/SEND one as when we do this song in groups/schools we hand out flashing lights and batons as a sensory prop to jump around.
