James / Project Coast, a tribute to Dahmane El Harrachi. 🇩🇿

Dahmane El Harrachi (7 July, 1926 – 31 August, 1980), was an Algerian chaabi musician of Chaoui origin. He was born in Algiers and moved to France in 1949, eventually settling in Paris, where he played music in the numerous Algerian cafés there. His song “Ya Rayah” has made him the most exported Algerian Chaabi artist. I’m amazed by some of the music that he wrote, especially this song “Li Rah Ou Wella” which is my personal favourite from him, I consider it to be one of his masterpieces. He was an extraordinarily talented musician. 🔶
