Thursday 2 November 2017 – Federal Shadow Treasurer, the Hon. Chris Bowen MP addressed the Queensland Media Club (QMC) to present the Labor party's "Case for Growth" ahead of Queensland's state election (the 2017 Queensland state election was held on Saturday 25 November 2017 to elect all 93 members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, the unicameral Parliament of Queensland). His speech was then followed by Q&A with members of the Queensland Parliament Media Gallery.

The QMC is the official political, business and media forum of the Queensland Parliament Media Gallery and the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance. The QMC hosts a series of events each year providing a forum for key business leaders and decision makers, political representatives and media.
