For those who never watched Sharpe, it follows Richard Sharpe as he is promoted from the ranks for saving Sir Arthur Wellesley's life in Portugal during the Peninsular War. He raises through the ranks and fights in major battles, before fighting finally at the Battle of Waterloo.
