Nanak Dev, born in Punjab in 1469 AD, discovered Gurmat and himself spread the teachings of Gurmat across the length and breadth of the country. Sikhs consider him as their first Guru. Gurmat was propagated by the remaining 9 Gurus. 10th Guru Gobind Singh Ji handed over this message to Khalsa and preached to follow the teachings of Gyan Guru Granth Sahib. This religion teaches to serve people, teaches to connect with the society, teaches to give respect, teaches to stay connected to the land.
