VIDEO INTRODUCTION: The cauveri water dispute has been one of the longest disputes in the history of India!! This is the water dispute between Karnataka and Tamil nadu which has been going on since 1974!! Yes you heard that right!! 2 giant states of India have been fighting over water since the past 45 years!! While the farmers of Karnataka have been grappling with water shortages, the politicians have used the dispute very well to please the people and get votes, While the citizens of Karnataka face water shortage on a daily baisis, the protestors had come down to the streets to shut down the entire state of Karnataka!! and lastly, while the farmers of Karnataka are loosing 1000s of crores in crop yield, the water crisis in Karnataka is getting worse with each passing year!!! and while most people might consider to this to be yet another conflict, I must tell you, that this dispute points towards an emerging crisis that is soon going to cause a castatrophe in India!! and just like any another crisis, this crisis also points towards a business opportunity that very few people will notice!!
So the question is,
What exactly is the conflict between the two states, and why is it so significant?
Why has it not been resolved even after 45 years?
What is the catastrophe that this crisis is pointing at?
and most importantly, as students, what kind of business opportunity can this crisis present to entreprenuers like you and me??
