It's going to be sincerely difficult for me not to write an entire novel about how much I love this Suhr Custom Classic JM, because I had so much fun playing it. Honestly, I got lost in its fretboard for almost an hour! It suits my personal preference for HSS guitars to a T. I like S-style single-coils that have warm, glassy lows, lots of vocal chirp and quack in the upper midrange. I also love chime-y, jangly high end. The V60LP pickups in the neck and middle positions have all of those qualities in spades! I'm a huge Hendrix fan (who isn't?) and I was able to cop lots of fun tones that reminded me of his classic records. In general, this guitar's resonance has a woody. vintage-style flavor, perhaps due to the roasted maple neck.

Of course, the single-coils are only half the story here. The bridge pickup is an SSH-Plus humbucker, and it totally rules. It's got muscular, taut low-end and sweet singing highs, but the real star of the show is the midrange. It's raspy and punchy like an old PAF, but it has a bit more output, so it has a more aggressive demeanor than usual. This is a great contrast with the vintage-style single-coils! With these pickups, I could get every sound I'd need for a show or a recording gig.

Also, the neck profile deserves to have some ink spilled on its behalf. It's Suhr's Vintage Standard C, and it's just right: thick enough to feel substanial, skinny enough to play fast. It also has a satin finish, so there's no need to "break it in" like with a glossy neck. Also, it has a 10"-14" compound radius, which makes bending easy up high and chording easy down low.

We're proud to showcase such a killer guitar for our exceptional customers. I have no doubt that anyone looking for a versatile HSS guitar will love this serial just as much as I did.
