This video explores the 2019 Kia Sorrento. And its changes to this year specifically. In earlier years the oil filter housing, was located at the top of the engine. And in this video we show you the location on the new engine design. The older design Allow for quick and convenient access. In that design you could change the oil from the top of the engine, using an electric pneumatic or manual oil pump. In the new 2019 design they relocated the oil filter, to the bottom of the engine near the oil pan. This setup though less convenient is better than conventional style setups. The reason some may deem this new relocation an issue, is simply because of the engine shield. This engine splashguard has 17 bolts that secure it to the bottom of the engine. While this feature is convenient for keeping moisture and debris from coming in contact with your engine, it’s a hassle to have to deal with at each oil change.
