This is the first time I've used a washing machine that hadn't been washed in a year or so, and there was something like mold coming out of it, so I used sodium percarbonate (oxygen bleach) to wash and clean the tank.

How to use sodium percarbonate
Fill the washing tub with hot water (leftover water from the bath can be used. Add about 500g of sodium percarbonate, stir (wash) for 3-4 minutes, and let it sit as long as possible (preferably overnight). After that, agitate (wash) for another 3-4 minutes, carefully scoop out any floating debris, and then drain the water. This will clean the dirt and mold from the washing tank.

Caution
This product does not dissolve immediately, but will dissolve over time, so do not worry about any residue. Also, be sure to remove any floating debris and mold. If mold is left behind, it will speed up the process of getting dirty again. After draining, it is best to rinse again just to be sure (water is fine, not hot water). If there is a lot of dirt or mold, you may have to wash the product more than once.
