The "European Bike Week 2019" on Faaker See took place for the 22nd time. Around 70,000 motorcycles of various types (most of course Harley-Davidson) and well over 100,000 visitors from all over the world met at Europe's biggest Bike Week.
A first motorcycle rally on Lake Faak took place in 1998 and was at this time an anniversary event of Harley-Davidson. The first meeting took place with 15,000 participants. When the event resumed next year, it was named European Bike Week. Over the next few years, it has grown from a small event into what is now Europe's largest biking scene and the third largest event in the world
Around Lake Faaker See, events of all kinds are offered in organized "Villages" as well as privately. Also concerts take place in the week. At the first Harley-Davidson meeting in 1998, the American band Bon Jovi performed in front of 40,000.
The focal point is the Harley Village, where the campground and the official Harley-Davidson dealers are located. The outlaw scene also has its place at the event.
The annual highlight is the parade, in which up to 25,000 motorcyclists make a joint trip with meanwhile very large media presence around Lake Faak.
