Some of you may know I already covered this song, but it felt appropriate to redo it. Yesterday I lost a fellow classmate and friend to suicide. I personally was never super close with him, but I was excited to have class with him again next year. We met last year in our drama and biology classes. We had also taken some after school drama classes together but had never really talked during those. I wish I had told him, but I really looked up to him as an actor and a person. He was a year younger than me, but I admired him. He seemed like such a genuine, friendly guy. I wish I had gotten over my social anxiety and tried to make friends with him. He lived down the street from me, but we never really talked. I miss him, we all do. It was so sudden, I don’t think anyone could have ever expected it.
Make sure you check in on your friends every so often, you never know who might need it. Everyone has so much worth and there is always someone who loves you and cares about you. Don’t be afraid to reach out and seek help. It may feel scary, but I promise you it’ll be better than bottling it all up.
