My name is “Wingit” and I am attempting an Appalachian Trail 2024 Thru Hike - without much of a plan, in fact, I am Winging it along the way. Here is another day I am grateful to share with everyone.

20 mile hiking day where I made it into Front Royal a day earlier than expected. I came into town because I had a ride and because I needed to resupply and maintain a similar schedule to friends on trail who had a situation. I also learned that I had a mix up with a magnesium supplement and an immodium supplement - which may have contributed to me having an opposite possible Giardia symptom.

I talk about some of the local history and lore of Front Royal, a.k.a. “Hell Town” that was relayed to me by the kindness of a local. Stories about Daniel Boone, John Wayne, the Hells Angels and even the Pagans and the rowdiness of local legends in this town rich with history and legend.
