Chinese ethnic minority expert, Barry Sautman claims that Tibetan “lamas…. in Tibet are quite loyal to the government, and they don’t care much about the Dalai Lama any more, at least not openly”. CTA spokesperson Tenzin Lekshay dismisses the claim, and says, “Sautman’s comment clearly shows his support for the Chinese government’s hardline policy in Tibet” and “The Chinese government would know the real feelings of Tibetans if they allow Tibetans inside Tibet to possess pictures of Dalai Lama and show their faith and respect independently.”
