We completed this trip in just one day, and while we faced some unexpected challenges (including a dramatic fall off our bike! 😬), the journey was full of thrill and excitement. From scenic views to exploring the ancient forts, this destination has it all! 🌄

About Rajmachi
Rajmachi is a popular trekking destination nestled in the Sahyadri mountain range of Maharashtra. The trek is famous for its two forts: Shrivardhan Fort and Manaranjan Fort, which offer breathtaking views of the valleys, waterfalls, and surrounding peaks. The forts date back to the 17th century and were historically significant during the Maratha Empire, used by Shivaji Maharaj to protect his territory from invaders.

Best Time to Visit:
The best time to visit Rajmachi is during the monsoon season (June to September) when the entire region is covered in lush greenery, and the waterfalls are in full flow. However, post-monsoon and winter (October to February) are also ideal for trekking, as the weather remains cool and pleasant.

How to Reach Rajmachi from Pune:
From Pune, you can reach Rajmachi by taking the following routes:

By Road (Bike/Car): Pune to Lonavala (66 km) via the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Once you reach Lonavala, the Rajmachi trek starts near Udhewadi village, around 15 km away. You can either trek from Kondhane Caves or take a rough, bumpy road (preferably a 4x4 vehicle or a bike) to the base of Rajmachi.

By Train: Take a train from Pune to Lonavala. From Lonavala, you can hire a local taxi or auto to reach the base village.

Historical Places to Explore:
Shrivardhan Fort: This fort offers an eagle's eye view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It was mainly used for keeping an eye on the trade routes.
Manaranjan Fort: Known for its strategic defense purposes, this fort houses water tanks and old fortifications that still exist today. Both forts played significant roles during the Maratha rule.
