Today we are going to down one of the hardest soloes I done in all of BFA, if we include preparation time. The hard part is figuring out how to make your character survive through Berserk and a soft enrage at the same time!

Background:

To survive all the damage taken, there was 4 key pieces I had to use
1: 160% Versatility for 80% DMG Reduction
2: Capped Last Defender (50% Dmg Reduction)
3: Bulwark of Light (160k absorb shield every global)
4: 30% Dodge from Trajectory Analysis Punchcard

To obtain this much Versatility, I had full socket with Versatility, full Versatility amplifiers aswell.
Aegis of the Deep also granted me a massive versatility bonus (especially when under 35% HP).
Vantus rune and other consumables that grants versatility.
Ancient's Bulwark trait, granting me Versatility when standing still

The last trick which people don't know about (atleast I haven't seen anyone talk about it) is that Conflict and Strife major for Protection Paladin makes your Avenger Shield double your Strife versatility on every cast. Even when it aint interrupting or silencing anything. This was the last key part to obtain 160% versatility.

Now let us talk about the encounter itself

One important thing is that we NEED to keep adds alive, and also aggro the type of adds that doesn't screw us over during the boss. The adds I used were Void Fanatic (most important) Anubisath Sentinel (those who doesn't have knockback or Mortal Strike), one of the Shatter NPCs before Mauts room. Aswell as Gryth'ax, the small boss before Elevator.

Almost everything else had an effect that would cause a wipe. Fears (from seers), max HP reduction (from behemoths), enemy healing (shadowmender) etc.

The only other type of mob that might have worked were Initiates, however they stand still and cast all the time which makes them not as good.

To keep the adds alive, I used Judgement instead of Avenger's Shield until he went into Berserk. I also made sure to not do any type of AOE unless necessary (Shield of the Righteous)!

Some things to know about the encounter itself is that you have to be quick out of the AOE silence on the ground, since you won't be able to use most of your abilities. Also during his Shatter phase, he will stack up a damage boost. If you soak the orbs he should only get a 9% damage boost during each phase.

Also keep in mind that you don't need to do much DPS during shatter phase to get through it (atleast in lower difficulties). He loses a lot of mana by himself...perhaps random groups will someday learn that!

Also he goes into berserk after 10 minutes of combat!
