Authentic Kerala Dishes with my personal Touch 😍
Ingredients
Chana Dal-1cup
Sabudana-1/4cup
+
1/4cup -Coconut Milk
Ghee-2 1/2tbsp
Thin Coconut milk-5cups
Thick Coconut Milk-1 1/2 cup
Jaggery -400 to 500gm
Cardamom Powder-1/4tsp
Dry Ginger-1/4tsp
Cashew nuts-10
Raisins-15
Coconut Pieces-few
Hot Water-3ups

Method
Wash chana dal well ,drain and keep aside for 30 minutes ..
Then heat ghee in a cooker and add chana dal and fry for 5-10 minutes in medium flame .
Now add 3 cups of water and cook .
Keep aside .
In a thick bottomed kadai , roast cashews,raisins and coconut separately in ghee..
In the same ghee add some more ghee and heat.
To that add cooked chana dal and stir for 10 minutes.
Then add jaggery syrup and mix well ..
Allow to cook for 10 minutes .
Now add 5cups of coconut milk and mix well..
Cook till the milk turn thick..
Now add cooked sabudana and salt ..
When the payasam is thick enough add thick coconut milk and milk..
After adding the final milk dont boil ,just heat..
Check the taste and add jaggery syrup if needed ..
Now add roasted items along with dry ginger powder and cardamom powder ..
Close the kadai for 10 minutes ..Then serve
