The current-generation Toyota Corolla Cross is likely to remain unchanged for the 2025 model year, with the possibility of some enhancements for the 2026 model year. Among the numerous visual and interior revisions to the updated Corolla Cross that Toyota introduced in Thailand were new headlights and a hexagonal grille. Toyota has not indicated whether the US market will receive these updates. If so, 2026 is expected to be the year for the launch of the refreshed Corolla Cross.

In its category, the compact Corolla Cross stands out with five seats and ample passenger space, along with an impressive 66.8 cubic feet of cargo capacity. Inside, you'll find an 8-inch touchscreen, six speakers, and a wireless smartphone mirroring system. Select from a range of features, including heated front seats, power-adjustable driver seat, sunroof, and power liftgate. Following the typical production schedule for Toyota vehicles, the 2025 Corolla Cross is slated to arrive at dealership lots in November 2024. Stay tuned here for updates on the forthcoming Corolla Cross as they become available.

The current Corolla Cross prioritizes safety, boasting an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. Standard driver-assistance features include automated high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automated emergency braking. Blind-spot monitoring is also included as standard, with parking sensors and rear active emergency braking available as optional upgrades.

No changes to the powertrain are expected for the Toyota Cross, regardless of whether the eagerly awaited facelift arrives in 2025. The 2.0-liter gas four-cylinder engine, which comes standard, delivers 169 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. Powering the front wheels is a continuously variable transmission (CVT). All-wheel drive can be added on for gas engines. EPA estimates for front-wheel drive models are 32 mpg overall, 33 mpg highway, and 31 mpg city. With all-wheel drive, gas mileage decreases to 30 mpg.

The current hybrid powertrain comprises a gas engine and two electric motors, resulting in an output increase to 196 hp and 152 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is a standard feature for hybrid vehicles, with improved fuel economy reaching 45/38/42 mpg in mixed city/highway conditions.

Thanks to its 8.2 inches of ground clearance and a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 pounds, the Corolla Cross is suitable for light off-road enjoyment.
