In this video I share how to make this lovely African flower square in crochet.
I made this blanket a couple of years ago and have had a lot of questions regarding it.

I used a 3.75 mm hook - the same one that is shown in this tutorial today.

The blanket is 36" x 54" - not including the scalloped border.
8 squares across and 11 high.
Each square is 4x4 inches

I used a pack of yarn called "sweet pea" that was created for a "CAL" with Attic 24 . https://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/sw...
I did not participate in the crochet along - just wanted to use this color recipe for my blanket.

You won't find the sweetpea pack but here are all the colors in it:

This pack contains 15 balls of Stylecraft Special DK (100g), a 100% acrylic yarn, in the following shades:

Pistachio (1822)

For the border, I first did hdc's all the way around in green (hdc, chn 2, hdc on corners) . Then, I did another round on this with sc's in the same color I was planning for the scallop edge (purple) . The scallops consisted of 7 dc's with sc's between each to anchor them down. US single (sc) = UK double crochet (dc)
US half double (hdc) = UK half treble (htr)
US double (dc)= UK treble (tr)
US triple (treble) (tr) = UK double treble (dtr)
