This is a video tour inside the pipe room of a 1928 Reuter Opus 300 organ at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1970 Edmonson Ave NE, Buffalo, MN 55313, Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). This pipe organ was installed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1929 at a cost of $3,600.

Over the years, updates and maintenance were done on the Opus 300, but major work was needed after a roof leak allowed water into one of the wind chests. This pipe organ holds a dear place in the hearts of Immanuel’s congregation; therefore, it was decided to proceed with the lengthy restoration project. Mike Christian of MG Christian Organ Company took care of the first phase of the project, and Grandall & Engen Organbuilders continued the project https://grandallandengen.com/

The following link is a news article containing details about Immanuel’s Reuter organ and Organ Rededication ceremony September 18, 2016. It also has photos of pipes inside the pipe room, and of the console being lifted over the choir loft to be taken to the organ repair shop: http://myimmanuel.org/organ-rededicat...

Some notes from the news article mentioned earlier: Church records show that when Immanuel Lutheran Church was first organized in the late 1800s, they paid $98 for their first pump organ. When Immanuel decided to replace its small white clapboard church with a larger new brick version in 1927, they formed a committee to discuss their 30-year-old pump organ. They visited a congregation in Litchfield that was said to have an impressive organ. After seeing that organ, the committee placed an order for a Reuter Opus 300 pipe organ to be installed at Immanuel.

A 20-note set of Cathedral Deagan chimes was added to the organ and dedicated in 1965 as a memorial to several members ($550). The chimes also needed restoration. The chime tubes were pneumatic, but much of the leather had rotted with some notes not working at all. They were pulled outside of the pipe room and repaired. The chimes restoration has been made possible by a gift from Vernice and William Kowalke.
