Most games have the “machine pistol” archetype, the idea of a little bullet hose but Halo’s SMG stood out for a lot of reasons. Not only did it have a nice little compact and charismatic frame but also was THE poster child for Halo’s sandbox dual wielding mechanic-a system that the SMG would long outlive. There’s been many iterations, models and interpretations of the SMG throughout halo’s life cycle and I felt it would be fun to go through them.
