Everyone knows by now that truck parking spaces are in short supply! But this state of affairs is not just - let's say - disgraceful for the truck drivers, it is dangerous for all road users and is an extreme hindrance to the transport industry. Are the responsible politicians not interested in this at all?

One might think so when one learns that recently in Koblenz on the A 61 the planned, urgently needed expansion of a truck parking lot was torpedoed at the local political level. Yet it is clear that there is already a shortage of around 40,000 truck parking spaces along the autobahns throughout Germany to comply with the statutory rest periods. Trucks transport more than 70% of all goods and, according to all available forecasts, will continue to be the mode of transport that bears the brunt of freight transport until well beyond the year 2050, according to the BGL.

eurotransportTV took a look at the tragedy using the example of the heavy haulage specialist, Universal Transport. After all, the specialists for heavy and large transports are particularly affected by the situation. Kick in our video about a precarious situation that apparently leaves many decision-makers cold.
