Riding Sawdust Mountain on a snowboard.
   • A New Creative Use for Sawdust from W...

I recently noticed a sudden change in the local lumber market. Last summer I stopped milling lumber on my Woodmizer LT15 sawmill. This was partly because people stopped buying the lumber I was milling. I mostly mill Douglas fir lumber. Lumber was easy to sell when prices were high. After softwood lumber prices fell in 2023, it became difficult. Recently in the beginning of 2024, I am noticing a big change and people buying lumber.

If you are wondering where the reference for the hobbyist jingle came from, it’s from The Wood Hounds podcast. I don’t know them, but want to give credit where credit is due. You can check them out on your favorite podcast platform.
