Episode 13 of the television series "Cities", which ran for one series across 1979-1980. Each episode had an 'A list' star host the documentary about a city which they were familiar with for some reason. This week Melina Mercouri (1920-1994) takes us through Athens...its history, people and sights, with her unique energy.

Melina was drawn from a prominent Greek political family, but carved her own career as an actress (having many credits including the award winning 1960 film, "Never on a Sunday"), and later as a politician.

The series was initially aired on CBC I think, to considerable acclaim. I can find no copy of this somewhat forgotten series now on the tinternet, so thought I would post this.
