PRISONERS | Prepare for the Worst: MUST SEE FILMS explores Denis Villeneuve’s detective thriller ‘Prisoners.’ This Film Analysis digs into the overarching theme of the film ‘the testing of faith’ during a tragic kidnapping of a families children. Hugh Jackman gives one of his most emotional performances since The Fountain. Jake Gyllenhaal’s Detective Loki is my favourite character in the film and his relationship with Keller creates incredible tension and suspense. Prisoners gave me one of the most intense cinema going experiences and I knew I had witnessed something amazing. I was so pleased when researching the film how much meaning and intentional information is layered throughout this film. Goes to show how talented and confident Denis Villeneuve is as a director. I hope you enjoy this video essay and feel free to comment your experience with this film below.
