This is an excerpt from my first ever UE project, an ongoing jump into Unreal and learning what translates from C4D and what doesn't. Biggest thing was showcasing how to get alembic cloth sims to work in realtime, which I pretty much had to learn on my own (Epic forums are deserted lol) and figure out why I was getting some very weird texture issues on alembic sims from C4D 2023. Also need to learn more about alembics as mine was a pretty standard 10GB+ for just one cloth and even with a 4090 am dropping big time frames lol, obviously not knowledgeable and correct optimization.

You can check out that video where I figured out why textures were displaying incorrectly despite default alembic import settings here:

Secondary to alembic was also just figuring out random bokeh issues and Lumen glitches with being so close up to nanite Megascans for super depth of field, really trying to push UE to what I would normally do in C4D and see what can and can't be faked or run in real time.

Plan to keep updating this scene on adding on shots to the "story" as I learn how to do new things in UE (glass, Metahuman, correct particle sims, SS, etc) so stick around as I journey along. Like I said I am very fresh and ignorant on a lot of UE functions but it is very exciting seeing the power of Lumen in creating photoreal visuals in real time - I think in total these scenes took a combined 5 minutes to render which is insane lol. Thanks for watching!
