I run for several days from Oaxaca to Tehuantepec, crossing mountains where there are thousands of graves on the side of the road, including those of children and entire families. The atmosphere was gray, with little civilization, no signs, and no police presence. On that ominous road, a man with a machete in one hand and a large stone in the other hand chases us.
