A rare exception from my habit of sharing live videos to bring you a total banger from North Sumatra. I found this cassette in a tape shop (Toko Gesit - once the headquarters of the small Karo record label that put this out, Gesit Records) in Medan, North Sumatra. The song "Atam Atam Iteh Teh" (a title which even my Karo friends can't translate) is a mid-eighties elctro-funk duet by Juliana Tarigan and Langkat w/ a deep karo flavor - just wait for the intense solo around 2:30 featuring sarune, the Karo double reed shawm.
