While we were in the Florida Keys, a storm rolled through. This storm was not ordinary, spinning up from the Gulf of Mexico and quickly developing rotation, much like a tropical storm or hurricane. While it was never named, we experienced 50+ mph winds, horizontal rain, and 6 inches of rain in a weekend! This storm caused flooding in the campground and damage to some property. This experience prompted us to consider our evacuation plans and preparation for such events. This video offers tips for severe weather preparation.
