In early spring 2020, the Archer family allowed public access to 'Steep Fields' in Christow via a footpath known as 'Archers' Walk'.
Christow Community Land Trust and Dartmoor National Park Authority worked with Tom Archer to create a new permissive path through the site.
The land, which was previously farmed, had been allowed to 'wild' over the last ten years, which meant little human contact. Ecologist Elliott Fairs explains the impact this has had on the wildlife and what you should look out for when you walk through Steep Fields.
Special thanks to Elliott Fairs and to Corony Edwards for coordinating
