Uganda exported more than 830,000 bags of coffee valued at 222 million U.S. dollars in August. This was a 13.5 percent and an 83 percent increase in quantity and value respectively, compared to the same period last year. Authorities partly attribute this increase to the emergence of China as an emerging market for Ugandan coffee.
