Golden Ears Panorama Ridge and Summit are among the best hikes in Golden Ears Provincial Park located in Maple Ridge, British Columbia.

This is a popular trail which could be done as a day hike or overnight backpacking as it offers spectacular views of the sunset and sunrise. The campsite is located at the Panorama Ridge which is equipped with various tent pads on a first-come-first served basis, an emergency shelter and outhouse. There is also a beautiful waterfall near the ridge formed from melting snow which offers water source in addition to several streams near Alder Flats.

The Golden Ears Summit is ~ 5 km (round trip) from Panorama Ridge. It is a challenging hike which involves some route-finding and scrambling but amazing views of the Golden Ears Provincial park area, Alouette Mountain, Edge Peak and Blanshard Peak, Mt. Judge Howay, Robie Reid, and Coquitlam area make it all worth the hard work.

We did a one-night backpacking:
Day 1 - From West Canyon Trailhead, hiked to Panorama Ridge and campsite
Day 2 - Sunrise hike to the Summit then hike back to the West Canyon Trailhead

Distance: 21 km round trip
Elevation Gain: 1,372 m.
Rating: Difficult

To Golden Ears Summit:
Distance: 26 km round trip
Elevation Gain: 1,695 m.
Highest Point: 1,716 m.
Rating: Difficult
