Synopsis:
Famed comedy team Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey are Gilbert and Tommy, two infantrymen who go AWOL in Paris, where they impersonate officers to impress the local ladies — including Annette, the daughter of their colonel.

Reviews:
Bert Wheeler & Robert Woolsey are really growing on me. Though not all of their vaudevillian shtick is as funny as I imagine it used to be, I have to admit that their clever quips, funny puns, and dirty double-entendres have me in stitches about 90% of the time. Here, they have a great time as two AWOL soldiers during World War I who impersonate officers, woo the ladies, and cause general chaos while an angry colonel tries desperately to find them and court martial them. Meanwhile, the colonel's daughter (Dorothy Lee) has her eye on Bert, and the two of them yuck it up with a little duet and some interpretive ballet! The story is negligible, of course, merely an excuse to hang some gags on, but that's perfect. The boys are in their element and they own it. Also adding to the fun is Edna May Oliver as the colonel's wife and Leni Stengel as the woman who stalks him. I really had fun with this. Loved the songs, loved the gags, loved the boys!
