The body follows the mind, and the mind follows the breath.
When we are experiencing anxiety, our nervous system is in a fight, flight, or freeze state. When we are in this state, our rational mind along with its clarity, and creativity, goes offline because the nervous system is prioritizing, the oldest, survival elements of the brain and nervous system. This leaves us caught in an anxiety feedback loop that leaves us feeling more and more anxious UNLESS we break out of it.
The most powerful instrument humans have to shift their state of being, how they feel and experience life, is.. their BREATH.
The body follows the mind, and the mind follows the breath.
When we can effectively use our breath to shift our nervous system state, we open the door to healing through whatever trigger is coming up for us. This is because, by effectively breathing, we can bring mental clarity, rational thinking, and creative problem-solving back online in our brains. This allows us to shift "trigger = reaction" to "trigger = response". We can consciously respond instead of unconsciously reacting.
