In 1977, Andy Warhol was commissioned to do a series of paintings of the most famous athletes in the world. One of those athletes was Jack Nicklaus. The painting has lived for years within the World Golf Hall of Fame. With the Hall moving to Pinehurst, it was decided to auction the Warhol "Jack Nicklaus" painting. This is the story of the painting, how was it captured and how it was sold.
