We celebrated our new year eve in Gwaldam. Gwaldam is a part of Garhwal hills and situated at the borderline between Garhwal and Kumaon. Gwaldam is a small town itself, the main reason for its prosperity is its being a junction of Kumaon and Garhwal and many paths lead to different areas and villages.

Gwaldam rises to a height of 1700 m. It is located about 40 km from the popular hill station of Kausani. From Gwaldam, you can get fascinating views of Nanda Ghunti, Nanda Devi and Trishul. Gwaldam lies about 20 km from Baijnath. The roads are well-maintained and give a thrilling driving experience. The route to Gwaldam takes you through dense woods and green fields peppered with cottages. Gwaldam is also the starting point of many treks and the base of the popular Roop Kund trek. The entire area is bordered by snow-capped peaks. The greenery of Gwaldam is watered by the Pindari river.

🏔 Trisul: This is a group of three Himalayan mountain peaks of western Kumaun, Uttarakhand, with the highest (Trisul I) reaching 7120m. The three peaks resemble a trident - in Hindi/Sanskrit, Trishula, trident, is the weapon of Shiva.
You can enjoy the beautiful views of Trisul from Gwaldam and other nearby places like Badhangadhi top. Brahmatal Top is also visible from this place.

We enjoyed our time in Gwaldam. We set bonfire and celebrated our new year in wild.
