Composer : Wut Man Chung
Harmonica : Tsui Tak Ming
Conductor : Chen Chiu-sen
New Japan Philharmonic
Recorded in 1984, May

The Pamir Capriccio, which reflects the musical style of the local people of the Pamirs, is a grand piece for chromatic harmonica and orchestra. Composed in 1977, this work describes the simple, happy lifestyle of the Pamir peoples and expresses the composer's fond memory and admiration of them. Mr.Wut has woven the basic themes of Pamir folk music into a strictly tectured motif. His tightly constructed composition presents the unique style of the Pamir border tribes, expressing their passion, virility, and hospitality in musical detail.

The Pamir Capriccio is divided into five parts.
The "allegro" opens the piece, imbuing the listener with the sincere hospitality of the Pamir people, who invite their guests to join in a lively, party-like atmosphere.
The "andante capabile" reflects the loving nature of the hosts and their long history.
The "appassionato presto" then gallops into reflect the past glory and bright future of these proud people.
The "andante cupoe erotico" relaxes the pace to express the unwillingness of the guests to depart.
The grand farewell of the "brillante moderato" reiterates the composer's sincere feelings for peoples of the Pamir.
