In mid-2019, after a difficult period for the category, TC del Oeste came under the umbrella of Procar with a new name: "Procar 2000."

Some may remember that in the '90s, there was a category with the same name (created after several drivers left TC2000 due to budget issues) where they aimed to compete with discontinued models under the 1994 technical regulations of Turismo Competición 2000.

Although the premise isn't the same as in the '90s, Adrián Ciocci (president of Procar) stated that the long-term goal is to evoke the TC2000 of the 1980s with models like the Fiat 1600, Fiat 125, Peugeot 404 and 504, Opel K 180, Dodge 1500, and Ford Taunus.
