In this video, I originally set out to show various methods to bend PVC The first method I tried worked so well and was so easy that I decided it wasn't worth it to try my other options. Prior to this video I never used a heat gun except to shrink wrap some gifts 20 years ago and even though I've done plenty of PVC projects I never tried bending PVC. If I can do it, so can you!
The heat gun I used was a dual temp model that I got from Harbor Freight with a $9 coupon. If you don't have a heat gun already and there's no good deals available to you locally, you can pick one up from Amazon.
Here's the heat gun I used in the video: https://amzn.to/2DaVwDz
Although I set out specifically to make Candy Canes to use as outdoor Christmas decorations you can use this technique for shaping PVC for almost any purpose.
If you're going to use a metal container to hold the form like I did, make sure that it's empty - don't use a full paint can or other substance that is potentially flammable or can emit vapors!
Thanks for watching and I wish you the best with your DIY projects!
