You couldn’t write a better storybook ending to the 2024 ice hockey world championship than this...The gold medal game between Czechia and Switzerland was fast-paced, reminiscent of good old-fashioned pond hockey where anything could happen—and a lot did. Not too many goals were scored, though, because these were the two best defensive teams in the tournament. But there were things I had never seen before: a player jumping into the wrong bench, another blocking a shot with his groin, Gudas ran over two, a hit so hard it broke the glass, a dramatic finish, and so much more.
