Rock Fishing Outside the Golden Gate 8/5/2023

Today was an adventure outside of the Golden Gate straight into the ocean to search for Rock fish, if time and swells permitted, roaming Stripers along with native Halibut.
We had an extremely limited window for being outside of the Golden Gate knowing the weather would swiftly change on us by mid morning. We took the opportunity to nail some Rock Fish out of the gates but with a crew getting into how Ocean Fishing works, we snagged alot needing to re-rigg our lines cutting into our fishing window while outside of the gates. We did manage to execute our plan and brought in as many Rock Fish and Lingcod we could while the Tides were changeing direction to incoming on us. After battling the Rocks, we choose to get a breather by moving into some calm areas to regroup and re-rigg lines then decide what next to tackle based on the wind conditions coming up into 15 to 19MPH. This meant we had to stay off the usual spots wide open and face on with the wind. We had to travel around the bay to make use of some of the key areas with protection from the elements.
We managed to move into the Paradise Area as the water was cleaner this time, we nailed a ton of Halibut and a few of what we believe were Soupfin Sharks. The day left us with no Keeper halibut as most of the line biters were short by just an inch and lots half an inch leaving nail biter measurement. We had a blast, the crew had a blast and we hope you enjoy the footage we have for what we could fish for on this day, see you out on the water
