An incredible Thursday spent up on Cad West watching military aircraft roaring through the Mach Loop! As ever nothing is guaranteed but staying in the area provided the opportunity for an extra early start in the hope the Americans might bring some military hardware through to catch up following their ‘Juneteenth’ break, and my god was the early wake up call worth it!

Early risers were treated to a familiar rumble, as Deuce 11-14 Flight of 4 x F15E Strike Eagles on a low level sortie (LN221, LN315, LN219 & LN308) looped, then two F35s leading two more different F15s passed twice before exiting, followed soon after by two passes by two more F35s, leading to 16 USAF passes all before 9am!!

And it didn’t stop there, with two separate pairs and a trio of RAF Hawks, two Texans SWFT1-ZM330 + SWFT2-ZM331, and two more single Texans, VYT96 ZM323 and VYT80 ZM343!

The afternoon continued to impress with an RAF Phenom ZM334, then four hawks passing low level at the same time as two higher F15s prepared to flyover and three Texans, firstly ZM332, and then SWFT1-ZM325 SWFT2-ZM330 completed the show. Just shy of 40 passes in total and one seriously pleased descent back to the carpark!
