On-Ride The AVIO at Tibidabo, Barcelona, Spain. Off-Ride / Inside POV.
Constructed at Tallers Estrada in Sarrià and designed by the engineer Fath, under the guidance of Marià Rubió, the Airplane was installed suspended from a large arm that turned around a tower crane attached to the building of the former Festival Hall. #barcelona #themepark #spain #avio

The arm moved 15 meters beyond the railing of the viewpoint terrace and seven meters above, moving in a circular movement with a 20-meter diameter. It traveled at a speed of eight meters/second and made one complete tum every 15 seconds. The power was generated by the propeller itself, driven by a 15 HP electric motor at 750 rpm. Deceleration was done by reversing the rotation direction of the propeller. Original features were maintained on the inside, such as the radiophone station from 1933.

The first design was yellow, like the original plane, and with the remodeling that has been done over the years, it has become the iconic red airplane that we know today, and one of the main identifying traits of the Park.
