Now that three axis gimbals are becoming so affordable and popular, people are beginning to think they are a replacement for the camera stabilizers of the past. While these motorized gimbals can indeed accomplish some great camera moves, tried and true rigs like the Steadicam still have some advantages.

In this video I went out with my friend David Aronson, a professional Steadicam operator, and we ran some tests between the Steadicam and the DJI Ronin gimbal. Check it out!
