Kate was given one dose of gadolinium contrast dye during an MRI, and her life has never been the same since. She suffered convulsions, speech impediments, a mini-stroke, and 40 other symptoms, which she still battles to this day, 16 months later.

Gadolinium is a toxic heavy metal that is put into the body of thousands of unknowing patients every single day. For some patients, this metal causes the complete destruction of their bodies, including disability and death. For other patients, the destruction is slow and silent, leaving them sick without ever knowing the cause of their illness. Another category of patients may receive gadolinium and not react at all. Regardless of the outcome, patients deserve informed consent when receiving a drug that can kill, maim, and destroy lives.
