LNER A4 Union Of South Africa is seen hauling bank holiday weekend service trains on the East Lancashire Railway for the first time since she was retired from the mainline in 2020. The locomotive is nearing the end of its current boiler ticket and is due to be retired from service and will be placed in the owners proposed museum in Scotland. Currently know one knows what the plans are for the locomotive this year so this could be one the last times we get to see No9.

In this video we get up close and personal with the A4 and while the loco is running a lot slower than its intended purposes, it gives us a chance to admire the sleek design of one of Sir Nigel's finest ! At the end of the video there's a nice little bonus which was only up the road from the East Lancs, though in hindsight I would have rather gone straight home than instead filming one of my favourite locos shoved up a hill on a non enthusiast train they call the Northern Belle, oh well she's still a grand sight !

I hope you enjoy the video.
