Here are some fun facts I couldn't fit in the video:

Bjarni was travelling to Greenland to meet up with his father, and was so determined to do so that he refused to land on the shores of America.
Richard Ameryk's family coat of arms is eerily similar to the United States flag, look it up.
America wasn't accepted as the name of the continents right away, and before that, other maps gave them different names. On one map, South America was called Peruana, while North America was labeled Mexicana.
