Feed Water Heaters in Thermal Power Plant | Regenerative Cycle | HP LP Heater
The Thermal Power Plant is working on rankine cycle and the feed water heaters a part of this regenerative rankine cycle which allow the feedwater to be brought up to the saturation temperature very gradually. Preheating the feedwater reduces the irreversibilities involved in steam generation and therefore improves the thermodynamics efficiency of the system. These heaters are HP and LP Heater or high pressure heater and low pressure heater. This video explain the concept of feed water heater, its purpose, working principle, classification, tube material and heater performance like TTD, DCA etc. The hp and lp hetars are basically shell and tube heat exchanger. These heaters improve the cycle efficiency and increase power generation of the plant. I hope this video will help you to understand about feed water heaters.
