Our ‘Stories of Hope’ series aims to provide hope for people who are living with, or caring for a family member facing illness or disability. This story of hope is from Bill and Lisa Giruzzi and explores their experience of Bill's brain bleed.

Lisa and Bill have been married for 25 years and live in Upstate New York. Their love affair began 30 years ago when they met at a transformational seminar. They bonded over a dream to have their lives make a difference. Little did they know, the challenges they would face when Bill suffered a brain bleed in April 2020 that nearly took his life. The difficulty of the seven weeks Bill spent in the hospital paled in comparison to the two-plus years of recovery that followed. Their story is a story of devastation and heartbreak, healing and triumph. Lisa runs her own company, Transformational Conversations while Bill is the Director of Training for a government agency in the U.S.

In exploring the stories of those facing illness or disability in this ‘Stories of Hope’ series, we aim to illustrate to others in similar circumstances that despite any changes in lifestyle or circumstances, our wellbeing is fully available. Within every story is a message of hope.

The series ‘Stories of Hope’ is put together by the Almond Tree Foundation; a non-profit providing wellbeing support for families living with disability or illness. The Almond Tree Foundation aims to create a supportive environment of shared experience for parents, spouses and relatives caring for someone with a disability or illness where everyone can learn how to access wellbeing.
