If you are a grassroots motorsports enthusiast, then you’ve heard of the 24 Hours of Lemons. But did you know that in 2020 the director of Lemons offered a million nickels to anyone who could complete the event in an electric vehicle? Unbeknownst to co-founders Matt White and Blakely Fabiani who teamed up to go after those nickels, that challenge would become the impetus for the birth of Ampere EV.

Throughout his career Matt has always been involved in car culture which has culminated in racing with friends at Atlanta Motorsports Park where Matt is a part owner of Primal Racing Group. Matt’s childhood dream was to race cars and his passion was to develop an electric vehicle “for the people” which has led to his involvement with Ampere EV.

Ampere EV was created to fill the need for a one-stop solution for electrifying a vehicle. After the company founders' experience with electrifying a CRX race car, it became clear that the budding EV conversion market was lacking simplicity, high level engineering, and availability that would be required to move it mainstream. Thus, Ampere EV was born.

Ampere EV’s Atom Drive System features architecture and parts that are engineered, built and tested in house using all new components, allowing us to deliver an EV Conversion System that is more feature packed than the competition for its price. The Atom Drive System was developed by world-class engineers and includes modular battery packs, Level 3 fast charging, a vehicle control unit, and a customizable user interface—all built in-house, pre-configured, and ready to install. The system also includes a high-quality touchscreen user interface with options for controlling functions using tactile switches and legacy display gauges.
