This lecture concludes the series on Ancient Egypt and covers the death of Akhenaten to the Roman period. At the death of Akhenaten there was no male heir, which led to king Tutankhamen becoming a boy pharaoh and dying just as young. His untouched tomb tantalizing reveals a fraction of what would have been in well-established pharaonic tombs. Seti I would contribute greatly to the construction of the Temple of Karnak and the last great warrior pharaoh, Ramses II, would build for 67 years of his reign. Even after the fall of Egypt to the Persians, then Greeks and Romans, the pylon temples, traditional canon and iconography would be retained. The indigenous gods would even be hybridized with Greek and Roman versions, while burial traditions were also combined.
